What are we looking for?
DRT is seeking an Experienced Technical Proposal Solutions Architect to support our growth opportunities, business development, technical solutioning, and proposal writing. As our Technical Proposal Solutions Architect, you will support technical solutioning, support opportunity capture, and proposal writing. DRT responds to a range of federal government Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that require a range of knowledge in technologies and methodologies. You will support the capture process by conducting thought leadership meetings with prospective customers (including creation of relevant slides/materials). You will then lead the technical solutioning related to an opportunity’s Statement of Work (SOW). You are expected to have a solid foundation in computer science/technical projects with the ability to learn new methodologies/technologies. You are expected to extract knowledge from other subject matter experts, continually learn new concepts through self-paced training, and stitch it together in a solution.  You will report to the Vice President, Technology and collaborate to balance the workload of these primary responsibilities. This position will allow you a hybrid work schedule in the DMV area. 


Fun stuff you will do on the job:
•    Design and implement technical solutions to support business development initiatives in the government industry.
•    Gather information required to develop technically compliant responses through independent research and by conducting working sessions with technical and management SMEs, program leaders, and proposed key personnel.
•    Work closely with the business development team to understand client requirements and design solutions that meet their needs.
•    Develop detailed technical proposals for government clients, including cost estimates and implementation plans.
•    Translate complex information gathered into clear, concise, and persuasive content.
•    Participate in color team reviews by providing valuable feedback to peer contributors and by implementing peer feedback for assigned sections.
•    Participate in capture and proposal strategy reviews and solution sessions.
•    Assist the capture manager with solution development and other capture support activities prior to solicitation release, as needed.
•    Sketch graphics to convey technical ideas.
•    Recommend technical positions/staff needed for delivery.
•    Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies, and provide guidance on how they can be leveraged to support business development initiatives.
•    Participate in project reviews of current delivery projects to stay aware of DRT’s capabilities, value propositions, and past performances.
•    Author job descriptions in support of proposal efforts and participate in conducting interviews, as appropriate to find contingent hires.


This is you:
•    Bachelor’s degree in IT related field or equivalent experience with 8+ years of federal government experience.
•    6+ years of technical writing and/or proposal writing experience. 
•    Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and communicate at the senior and executive management levels.
•    Demonstrated experience in translating complex and innovative solutions into well written narratives.
•    Strong understanding of software development and systems architecture.
•    Strong experience in low-code platforms, such as Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online, ServiceNow, or Salesforce.
•    Experience with cloud architecture and cloud migration techniques.
•    Experience with custom application development projects.
•    Strong personal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel, including project team members, management, and SMEs.
•    Ability to absorb, capture, and translate varied information of a technical nature.

•    3+ years of experience writing complex, highly technical proposals for government-issued solicitations is strongly preferred.

Currently due to the remote working status of the federal government, most DRT employees are teleworking from home and leveraging video conferencing along with other virtual productivity tools. Under normal circumstances, most of our positions are required to report onsite. However, DRT has not yet determined when employees will be required to return to their onsite workspaces. Please be aware that at the time a date is determined to return to the worksite, the requirement of this position may be to report in person to the work location.
