Project Description:
DRT provides public health, technology, data, communications, and visualization support to enhance the government’s ability to use public health data to address diverse, complex, and emerging problems. This includes designing and developing application and database solutions. In addition, this team develops innovative data capture and analysis techniques to enhance safety research and recommendation efforts across the country.
Job Summary:
The Project and Business Analyst works directly with public health scientists, web developers, UX/US designers, and technologists. The Analyst supports IT public health projects with requirements solicitation, project reporting, and general project management support.
Responsibilities:
- Works with business owners and partners to collect, review, and prioritize business requirements
- Analyzes business and user needs, documents requirements, and translates them into proper system requirement specifications
- Creates system documentation in compliance with the CDC software development lifecycle requirements (EPLC)
- Writes and maintain project documentation such as meeting notes, project charters, change requests, project enhancements, and clearance documents
- Prepares and delivers reports for government Development, Modernization, and Enhancement (DME) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) IT projects
- Leads all project management domains over the entire lifecycle of public health projects from planning to close-out
- Coordinates and tracks performance of cross-functional teams comprised of researchers, programmers, designers, testers, and communication specialists
- Manages relationships within cross-functional project teams and external partners
- Creates and maintains project schedule and progress reports
- Leads weekly and bi-weekly project meetings and present project milestones to stakeholders
Required Experience:
- Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust with the US federal government
- At least four years’ experience with requirements documentation and federal government IT project reporting
- At least four years’ experience working on software development or analytical projects or with collaborating with technical teams
- Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Must be well-organized, proactive, and works well in a team-setting
- Recent experience with CDC environment and standards: SDLC, technical architecture, release processes
- Working knowledge of Agile, DevOps, JIRA or other project management platforms commonly used in software development
- $57,000-$76,000
- Salary commensurate with experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, Business Management, degree in public health/informatics or related field
- Preferred: Project Management Institute (PMI) certification
