Project Description:
This position requires a project manager with a mix of scientific and project management skills, specifically to support the deployment and testing of automated system for cell culture of IPSCs (induced pluripotent stem cells).
This role will require hands-on cell culture, and cell characterization, and use of the automated systems.
One of the primary goals will be validation and assessment of system(s) involving:
- Analytics to understand data sourced from machine(s),
- Use and creation of data schematics, and
- Identification of gaps in validation data.
The breakdown of this role is approximately 40% project management, 40% scientific evaluation and assessment, 10% project team/workgroup activities, and 10% meeting arrangement and coordination.
Job Summary:
Non-technical activities: Plan and support specific business, management, functional, technical, and professional or policy areas of the project. Identify issues, conduct analysis and assessments, and provide inputs to program/project leaders.
Technical activities: Support deployment and testing of automated system for cell culture of IPSCs, data analytics, cell culturing, cell characterization.
Responsibilities:
Project management duties:
- Manage projects throughout their life cycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, closing).
- Meet with managers, executives, and stakeholders to identify and define goals and objectives or projects.
- Help activities and tasks remain in scope while identifying resources required for tasks.
- Analyze need(s) of client and stakeholders.
- Manage deliverables (reports, presentations, etc.) and artifacts, ensuring all are completed on time and within quality guidelines.
- Assist team with change, risk, quality, and issue management as well as problem solving.
- Work with scientific and technical experts to develop and execute validation tasks for research systems.
- Use standard cell characterization techniques to confirm findings of in-line sensors.
- Analyze cell characterization and system performance data to determine performance trends, consistency, and accuracy.
- Performs cell culture of IPSCs in 2D, 3D, and on the automated system.
- Represent program in team, planning groups, and study groups.
- Recommend use of/integration of SMEs into projects as needed.
- Coordinate with technical experts as needed.
- Work with team to prepare reports and manuscripts.
- Track progress, coordinate, and compose technical and administrative memos.
- Capture and finalize meeting minutes.
- Provide administrative support services for the project.
- Provide support to senior team members and FDA staff.
- Build a positive relationship with other contractors and cross-divisional teams on assigned projects and tasks.
- Review existing materials and determine potential improvements.
- Experience working in an Agile workflow is a plus.
- This is a hybrid role, and requires three (3) to five (5) days per week onsite in Laurel, MD.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 2-3 years of experience
- Demonstrated experience in biology and cell cultures
- A background in scientific evaluation and assessment is required
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- MA/MS from an accredited university in a related field
- $75,000-$95,000
- Salary commensurate with experience.
