Project Description:
This contract supports CDC's public health mission by providing data management, governance, analysis, and dissemination services to strengthen national disease monitoring.
The work spans a wide range of projects and requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams within CDC, as well as coordination with external contractors supporting CDC-funded efforts.
Job Summary:
The Public Health Project Manager will lead a large, multi-disciplinary initiative supporting a national public health program focused on HIV surveillance, prevention, and care. This role will oversee the delivery of data management, governance, analysis, and dissemination efforts that strengthen the country’s ability to monitor HIV trends, reduce new infections, improve diagnosis rates, and expand access to care and services.
Responsibilities:
- Lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex public health data projects across multiple teams and workstreams
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including epidemiologists, data scientists, statisticians, analysts, and public health advisors
- Manage project timelines, budgets, deliverables, and performance metrics
- Ensure alignment with program goals related to HIV monitoring, prevention, and care outcomes
- Oversee data governance and quality practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
- Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners, including other contractors supporting federally funded initiatives
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
- Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for stakeholders and leadership
- 12+ years of project management experience, preferably in public health, healthcare, or data-focused environments
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Strong understanding of data management, analytics, and governance principles
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience working with federal programs or government contracts
- PMP, Agile, or similar project management certification
- Familiarity with CDC disease surveillance, epidemiology, or infectious disease programs
- Experience coordinating interdisciplinary technical teams
- Knowledge of data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements in public health
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Data Science, Health Informatics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Public Trust clearance. Due to contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (green card holders) to be eligible.

- $110,000-140,000
- Salary commensurate with experience.
