Our world-class consultants unite people to work collaboratively to achieve project goals and make vision a reality.Job SummaryDRT is seeking an experienced Lead Technical Solutions Architect to drive technical solutioning and proposal writing for our federal government business development and growth opportunities. This role involves leading the design of effective technical solutions based on a range of technologies, conducting customer thought leadership meetings, and collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The ideal candidate must possess a solid technical foundation, strong research skills, and excellent interpersonal abilities ("people skills") to translate business challenges into winning technical strategies. Reports to the Chief Strategy Officer; offers a hybrid work schedule in the DMV area.Responsibilities1. Solution Design & Strategy- Design and implement end-to-end technical solutions to support business development initiatives in the government contracting sector.
- Generate quantitative estimates (Basis of Estimate/BoE and Level of Effort/LoE) required to implement the proposed technical solutions.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Development and Capture teams to understand client requirements and design effective, tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.
- Assist the Capture Manager with solution development and other support activities prior to solicitation release.
- Recommend necessary technical positions/staff needed for successful delivery of the solution.
2. Proposal Development & Documentation- Gather essential technical information through independent research and by leading working sessions with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), program leaders, and proposed key personnel.
- Develop detailed, technically compliant proposals for government clients, including implementation plans and cost estimates.
- Translate complex technical and gathered information into clear, concise, and persuasive proposal content.
- Participate actively in proposal reviews (e.g., color team reviews), providing constructive feedback to peers and implementing peer feedback on assigned sections.
- Sketch graphics and visual aids to effectively convey complex technical ideas within proposal documents.
3. Technical Leadership & Growth- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies and provide guidance on how to leverage them for business growth.
- Participate in project reviews of current delivery projects to maintain a deep understanding of DRT’s capabilities, value propositions, and past performance.
- Author job descriptions in support of proposal efforts and participate in conducting contingent hire interviews, as needed.
- Provide hands-on delivery assistance or troubleshooting to active projects when required.
- Deploy Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools effectively in all appropriate phases of job performance to maximize effectiveness and upskill outcomes.
- Serve as a mentor, tutor, and leader in developing the AI-related proficiency of other DRT employees where directed.
Required ExperienceTo be successful in this role, candidates must possess a combination of deep technical knowledge, government contracting expertise, and strong communication skills.Technical & Domain Experience- 8+ years of professional experience supporting federal government customers.
- Demonstrated experience in hands-on roles delivering technical systems, applications, and/or deliverables for US Federal customers.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and modern systems architecture.
- Significant experience with low-code/no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Appian, Pega, and/or Apex.
- Direct experience with cloud architecture and implementing cloud migration strategies.
- Experience leading or supporting custom application development projects.
Proposal & Communication Skills- 5+ years of professional experience in technical writing and/or proposal writing.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex and innovative solutions into well-written, persuasive narratives.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel (including project teams, management, and SMEs).
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively at the senior and executive management levels.
- Ability to effectively demonstrate technology and present technical concepts to diverse internal and external audiences.
Preferred Experience:- 8+ years of experience writing complex, highly technical proposals for government-issued solicitations is strongly preferred.
Education & Training:- Bachelor’s degree in IT related field or equivalent experience.
Salary Range:- Salary commensurate with experience.
